Atom processor Industrial Compact Enclosure

The ISIS Industrial Compact Enclosure (ICE) is a modular system based on an Intel® Atom™ processor. Due to its flexibility, a wide range of optional communications and I/O interfaces can be accommodated. ISIS ICE is available in three height options, with an optional hard disk and up to three additional PC/104 expansion boards.

The ISIS Industrial Compact Enclosure (ICE) is a modular system designed to flexibly accommodate Eurotech’s ISIS processor board together with a range of optional communications and I/O interfaces. Available in three height options, the system can accommodate the ISIS board together with an optional hard disk and up to three additional PC/104 expansion boards depending upon the height selected.
Interfaces
Standard connections are broken out from the ISIS board including Ethernet, 4 x USB 2.0, 2 x serial and VGA. In addition, GPS may be broken out from suitably equipped ISIS boards, and antenna interface provision is available to cater for the addition of internal Wi-Fi and cellular modem mini PCI Express cards.
Embedded operating systems run directly out of soldered down flash memory on the ISIS board itself, allowing the box to be configured as a completely fanless & diskless device.
Where additional persistent storage is needed, this can be added by either an internal SDIO card or conventional hard disk. The optional hard disk may alternatively be used for the installation of standard desktop operating systems.
Applications
A wide range, filtered PSU circuit allows the units to be installed operating directly from vehicle power supplies (protection excludes load dump), or directly into industrial instrumentation cabinets and systems operating off of 12 or 24V DC.
The combination of modular internal construction, wide input DC supply, flexible IO and communications options in a rugged and compact enclosure make the ISIS ICE an ideal selection for a hardware platform to be used in industrial and light transportation asset monitoring & control, security, communications gateway or access control applications.
