Aurora DuraMater DM-5500 is a robust High Performance Computing system. It is aimed at manned and unmanned applications where dependable HPC systems are required. Compact yet extremely powerful, DuraMater DM-5500 can withstand harsh ambient conditions and EMC levels. It can be cooled in a variety of ways: from conduction cooling with conventional fin-shaped heatsinks, to liquid circulation via a conductively coupled cold-plate. DuraMater DM-5500 is targeting applications where reliable HPC in diverse environments is required, thanks to the combination of function and compact ruggedness.
Aurora DuraMater DM-5500 is a rugged HPC system, optimally designed for space and weight constrained military/aerospace ground mobile and airborne environments addressing manned and unmanned applications where reliable high performance computing is required.
DM-5500 shares with other Aurora products a powerful computing architecture: a dual Intel Xeon 5500 series (Quad core CPU) motherboard, 24GB of on-board soldered DDR3 memory and a high data retention 80GB SSD drive. A high speed, high density FPGA device is also present, providing easy adaptability and implementation of dedicated functions and special algorithms, offering a maximum processing power of 700GOps.
DM-5500 is compliant with MIL-STD environmental and EMC regulations, and it is provided with watertight MIL-STD grade connectors which deliver power, a vast choice of CX4 (XAUI, Infiniband, 10GE, SRIO), USB, I2C, RS232, VGA and Ethernet connections.

Rugged watertight Mil-spec performance connectors make available power, CX4 (XAUI, Infiniband, 10GE, SRIO), USB, I2C, 2x RS-232, and 10/100/1000 Ethernet network connections. Such a robust combination of function and compact ruggedness enables DuraMater DM-5500 to support a wide range of field applications, and it can be customized with a number of different network configurations. Options include high speed serial interconnections via rugged CX4 connectors, and other customer-specific I/O on available connector pinouts.
