On 31-1-2018 Tele2 has reduced the 3G speed.

Tele2 will reduce the maximum upload and upload speed of 3G internet to 2 Mb/s from 31 January 2018. The hope is that more customers will switch to 4G. They have been informed of the change through a newsletter. According to the provider, 3G is used less and less. One speaks of a backup network, of which 'the data traffic is reversed step by step'. The phase-out of 3G has already been deployed at Tele2. At the beginning of this year it became clear that new customers were obliged to use a 4G device.

NOT THE ONLY ONE
Tele2 is not the only provider that says goodbye to 3G. Vodafone operates more rigorously and completely cuts down the network, but only as from 2020. Recently it became known that Tele2 merges with T-Mobile. If the takeover is approved, the hoped is that attention can be focused on the roll-out of a new 5G network.
