WiFi in ATEX environment with WaveNet-EX
The WaveNet-Ex from ACKSYS Communication & Systems is an all-in-one WiFi device (access point, client, repeater, router & Mesh-Point functionality) and designed for applications in ATEX zone-1, hazardous areas. The aluminum housing is perfectly suited for applications in the chemical industry, refineries, gas stations and very dusty locations. The stainless steel version is resistant to salt water and is suitable for applications at sea and harbours.
The WaveNet-Ex is ideal for wireless operation of heavy machines, locating people and goods and other services such as evacuation signaling systems, VoIP cordless telephones, data communication with smartphones or tablets and IP video connections.
The multi-stream MIMO technology ensures greater coverage of the WiFi network, higher data throughput and increases the reliability of the radio connection. The special antenna connectors provide an intrinsic barrier allowing the use of non-ATEX antennas, which reduces installation costs and increases installation flexibility.
With the ACKSYS WaveManger & WaveViewer software the WaveNet-EX can be configured and managed for routing, filtering and security functions (WPA2-Enterprise, Radius, DoS, Firewall etc ..) can be set up for a secure wireless 2.4 / 5GHz data communication connection . The WaveNet-EX is powered with an 18 - 60 VDC power supply or via the Ethernet interface with PPoE @ 24 VDC or PoE @ 48 VDC and works with any industrial Ethernet protocol.
