M-Bus interface converter, MPW-6
With the M-Bus level converter MPW-6, up to 6 M-Bus devices (each with a standard load of 1.5 mA) can be connected to an M-bus master via an RS232 or RS485 connection. The M-bus master can be a PC or an "embedded controller" with an RS232 or RS485 interface.

Description
With the M-bus level converter MPW-6, you can connect up to 6 M-bus-terminals (with a M-bus
standard load of 1,5 mA each) to an M-bus-master via RS-232 connection or a RS-485 interface. The Mbus-
master can be e.g. a PC or an embedded controller. The level converter thereby converts the coming
signals from the M-bus-master via the RS-232 or RS-485 interface into M-bus signals.
The level converter owns an overload protection and is short circuit proof. The overcurrent response
threshold is 30 mA. Furthermore, the M-bus interface of the level converter bus-side has an overvoltage
protection.
The 3 LEDs inform about the substantial operating and error conditions. Voltage supply is indicated by the
green power LED. Sending or receiving data is indicated by a two-color LED green/yellow. Additionally,
the level converter has a red bus-overload-LED indicating excess of the M-bus amperage.
The M-bus level converter MPW-6 is available in two variants, namely with RS-232 or RS485
interface.
