The EL-1000-4GM series consists of 8- and 10-port managed Industrial Ethernet Layer 2 switches.
Since they are only 30 mm wide, these switches, which support Profinet and are prepared for TSN, enable a high packing density in the switch cabinet, thus reducing operating costs. e-light 4GM has eight electrical ports (10/100/1000-BASE-TX) and two optical uplinks (1000-BASE-FX) for singlemode or multimode fibers, which can be used to transmit data over distances of up to 100 km. Redundancy procedures such as MRP and RSTP ensure fast reconfiguration of the network. The software works with all browsers and operating systems, from Linux and Windows to Apple and Android. Thus the switch can be managed via PC as well as smartphone and tablet. The diagnostic functions can be coupled with alarms that are displayed via SNMP, e-mail or relay.
The switch, which is designed for a temperature range of -40°C to +70°C in protection class IP20, has a redundant power supply (12-60 VDC) and meets all relevant EMC standards. The resistant metal housing for top hat rail mounting measures 155 x 30 x 102 mm (height x width x depth). The electrical ports have sockets for RJ45 plugs. The optical uplinks support BiDi technology, which allows data to be transmitted in two directions via SC plugs in just one fiber. Furthermore, variants with ST, - and E2000 connection technology are also available.
The switch can be managed via SNMP as well as via a web interface. Thanks to a self-explanatory user interface, which is similar to operating concepts from the consumer goods sector, it can be easily configured and monitored without special IT knowledge. The parameters that can be evaluated include the status of the ports, the temperature of the device and its power supply or the status of the fiber optic lines. Interfaces for USB sticks and SD cards are available for data backup and software updates.
