Industrial dual band WiFi access point, AirBox/12
The AirBox/12 supports PROFINET and is a WiFi access point with MESH and very fast roaming functionality.
The AirBox/12 from Acksys Communication & Systems is a new product in the series of industrial WiFi modules. The multifunctional WiFi module can be configured as access point with MESH function, client or as repeater and with its dual band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) radios suitable for Industry 4.0 applications and supports PROFINET. Due to the compact design of 142 x 99 x 35 mm and the possibility to connect external antennas, this module is suitable for applications where dimensions and high performance play a role. With the special kit, the AirBox can also be mounted on a DIN rail in switch and distribution cabinet.
The AirBox/12 with 2 dual-band WiFi radio modules with MiMo technology ensures very fast roaming. One radio provides data communication and the other radio scans the signal strength. With the built-in switching mechanism, the radio with the strongest signal will always ensure data communication. Furthermore, the AirBox/12 is equipped with 2 redundant Ethernet ports and a redundant power supply connection for voltages from +9 to 48VDC and 4 isolated digital I/Os. For a secure connection the AirBox/12 is equipped with a Firewall, Open VPN and SNMP3 security.
The central management of the various WiFi modules is done via the Acksys WaveManger software.
